“Employing the subversive sense of humor that has made him one of today’s most in-demand art stars, Richard Prince had his way with a stack of paparazzi photos, creating nine unique covers for this month’s issue,” reports Style.com. Britney is one of the 9 covers being featured. Other celebs include Angelina Jolie, Jessica Simpson, and Lindsay Lohan. Prince wryly says “it’s sort of like making art with a cocktail umbrella.” Some of Prince’s most iconic works are called “rephotographs” of mass-media imagery, including these “signed” publicity shots.
