Britney Spears has added a magician to her “Circus” tour. Illusionist Ed Alonzo, who had a recurring role as Max on “Saved by the Bell”, will be doing magic while Brit sings and dances.

Word is Britney has been rehearsing 8 hours a day for the big tour. A stage designer said: “Britney is a perfectionist. When she comes in the room, it’s a really intense, high-pressure environment. She is totally fit and her body is back in shape. She is really confident right now.”

The shows begin March 3rd.

Britney Spears “Womanizer” video has been named the sexiest promo of 2008 in Playboy magazine’s newly-released music poll. Britney’s racy video, in which she appeared naked in a steam room, beat Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights” and “Toe Jam” by Brighton Port Authority on the Playboy countdown.

Meanwhile, Metallica’s Death Magnetic scored the magazine’s Best Rock Album, Lil Wayne claimed the Best Hip-Hop Album prize and Portishead landed the Best Electronic Album for Third. Katy Perry’s smash hit “I Kissed A Girl” was named the favorite song of the past year.

Britney’s Spears ex-lover Adnan Ghalib could have landed himself in more hot water after allegations of a hit and run with a deadly weapon were made against him. The British paparazzo is being investigated for assault using a deadly weapon after he allegedly hit out at a court server who was attempting to hand him restraining order documents from Britney.

It is then claimed he fled the scene after the court server reportedly landed on the hood of his car. The LAPD reportedly responded to a call and are looking into injuries suffered by the complainant.

Just when things seemed to be looking good for Britney Spears, a blast from the past has stepped in to drag her down. Sam Lutfi, Britney’s former manager, has filed a lawsuit against the pop star and her parents, Jamie and Lynne, claiming defamation, libel and battery.

In the suit, Lutfi also alleges that Spears was fearful of her father and didn’t get along with her mother. “Resentful of Lynne and afraid of Jamie’s controlling, violent and often unpredictable behavior, Britney began inquiring about obtaining restraining orders against Jamie and Lynne,” the lawsuit reads.

The libel and defamation allegations all spring from Lynne’s new book, “Through the Storm,” claiming that since it was published, he “has been subjected to unfathomable amounts of ridicule and public scorn.” But that’s not the whole story: Lutfi currently has debt collectors hot on his trail. Lutfi was hit with a lien on his condo back in April.

He never paid for the digs, and owed $18,507.58 in November. And there’s more: A bank that issued Lutfi a Discover Card filed a lawsuit against him last month for $7,966.98.

This news arrives less than a week after Spears secured a restraining order against Lutfi, barring him from any contact with her, her parents or her kids.

There have been some rumors circulating in the UK that Britney is looking at signing a $14 million deal for her autobiography. This mammoth deal has Britney set to tell all about her rollercoaster life and career. However, one U.S. publishing insider tells OK!, it’s unlikely that the pop princess would get anything near the amount being reported.

“That seems ridiculously high for a book deal,” a source tells OK!. “Even though she’s a huge star, that doesn’t mean anyone wants to read an autobiography by her. To make back that much of an advance, the publisher would have to sell Harry Potter-size numbers.”

So while we would love to see Britney finally tell her complete side of the story from Mickey Mouse Club to divorced mother of two we’re not holding our breath.
