Britney Spears has settled a court case with a photographer who claimed she ran over his foot.

Ricardo Mendoza accused the singer of assault, battery and negligently driving her car in Beverly Hills in 2007. The incident happened on the same day Spears lost custody of her two sons.

Court records in Los Angeles show a settlement notice was filed on Monday (October 19). Details of the settlement have not been disclosed.

Mr Mendoza was working for Hollywood-based showbiz website TMZ at the time. The site auctioned his tyre-stained sock off to the singer’s fans and donated the proceeds to charity.

Steve Dixon, Britney’s “Circus” tour director, who’s worked on every Britney tour going back to the first one in 1999, confirms Britney is working on new material. Dixon said Britney is definitely back and hinted that “the new record she’s working on now” could surprise some people.

According to David, it was Britney’s A&R who contacted him for the collaboration. Unfortunately, the disc jokey didn’t reveal whether the project they are finishing is for her upcoming greatest hits collection “The Singlesâ€� or for the follow-up to “Circus”.

The title and release date for the song also remain under wraps. But recently, Lucas Secon who produced The Pussycat Dolls’ single “I Hate This Part” wrote on his MySpace, “New Britney Spears production. New smash on its way. Sooner than later!!!! Thats all I’m sayin’ for now.”

Beside working with David Guetta, Britney also tweeted about getting help from top-notch producer Max Martin. She is also rumored to tag Russ Castella and Fernando Garibay. Previously, it was reported that Britney will unveil a single on September 21 and drop her new compilation set in October.
